PhD candidate Demi Snabilié of the research group Homogeneous, Supramolecular and Bio-inspired Catalysis has recently been awarded a trio of prizes for posters representing her research on carbene and nitrene radicals.

At the Annual Symposium of the Holland Research School for Molecular Chemistry (HRSMC) held last week in Amsterdam, Snabilié took home an audience award as well as the award of the HRSMC master students. Earlier this year, she shared the first poster prize of the Summer School for Advanced Metal-Organic Chemistry and Catalysis. This was held in October in Noordwijk, organised by HRSMC and the Netherlands Institute for Catalysis Research NIOK.
Snabilié is a PhD candidate under the supervision of Prof. Bas de Bruin, investigating the generation of carbene and nitrene radical complexes by using photo- or electrochemistry. She presented an overview of her projects during the AMOCC summer school and showed initial results at the HRSMC symposium.
