RESEARCH PROFILE

Jianghua is currently working on supramolecular catalysis in living cells. Supramolecular systems catalyze in cellulo/vivo various substrates through bioorthogonal chemistry like coupling or uncaging reactions into fluorophores, drugs and active enzymes, which is meaningful to cancer treatment, biological processes and etc. The goal is to design biocompatible, stable, low biotoxic and targeted supramolecular catalytic systems including metal complex, cages, microcycles and related nanoparticles. Jianghua mainly focus on designing multifunctional, novel and smart supramolecular catalytic nanoparticles based on metal complex and metal-organic cages, which could targeted and controlled catalyze reactions in vivo. The design principles of supramolecular catalytic nanoparticles include the selectivity of proper catalysts, targeting groups, stimulus responsive groups and etc. (Photo: Current Opinion in Biotechnology 2018, 53:106–114)
